After beginning college as a double Film and English major pursuing a career in screenwriting, Molly left her former path behind to join a band. Since trading in on-screen narratives for the power of songwriting, she has been praised by music luminary Frank Liddell (Miranda Lambert, Lee Ann Womack, Eli Young Band) as a "young, promising songwriter with a big heart" and has captivated audiences with lyrics that resonate deeply and a voice that bares her soul.
Rooted in her Celtic heritage, Molly has crafted a distinct musical identity by blending the earthy tones of Irish instrumentation with a modern indie folk palette. Her recent project, Tigers In Your Backyard, merges influences from 60s and 70s folk with traditional Irish music, creating what Molly describes as "Celtic Flower-Power."
The past few years have marked significant growth for Molly, including critical acclaim for her music. Jonathan Frahm of For Folk’s Sake has praised her as "instantly identifiable," noting her ability to fuse accessible melodies with her uniquely captivating vocal style. Molly has showcased her talents in major cities across the United States, including New York, Nashville, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Chicago, and has shared stages with renowned artists like Heather Maloney, and Grammy nominated artist Bronwyn Keith-Hynes.
Beyond music, Molly serves as an Advisory Board Member for the We Are All Music Foundation, advocating for music education and accessibility.
Reflecting on her creative journey, Molly remarks, “With this album, I finally feel in control of my music. I’ve spent years developing my production skills and collaborating with other musicians, pushing the boundaries of genres from 'Celtic Flower Power' to 'Art Folk.'”
Inspired by artists like Annie Lennox, The Corrs, and Joni Mitchell, Molly continues to evolve her sound, exploring new narratives and genres while staying true to her roots. Her dedication to sustainability in the arts and advocacy for music education underscore her holistic approach to her craft.
